Course Description
Technological innovation has evolved to become the engine that runs most modern businesses today. One of the critical reasons why some American companies have gone bankrupt/failed in recent years is their lack of competitiveness/progress in technological innovation. This interdisciplinary (Technology + Business) course will help students understand the basics of both business and the process of technological change. At the same time, the course will help students to successfully design their own products from start (ideation) to finish (iterated prototype). Based on theoretical learning and case analysis, the instructor will bring students' business ideas into practice or commercialization.
Organized in a project-based learning format, this mini-MBA course aims to stimulate high school students' interest in business studies, develop their self-learning habits, and build upon their team-building skills. Upon completion of this course, students will not only grasp a stronger understanding of business innovation, but how to apply it to a real-world project or business themselves.
